Dear friends,

Welcome to my first blog!!!

First of all, I apologize in advance for any grammar mistakes. I think, speak and love in Spanish, and I will try to do my best in what many of us Latinos describe as “el difícil”, “the tough one”: the beautiful English language.

This blog was originally established to offer updates about the SECCAM Assembly. Afterwards and in between, it will offer information related to AIDS Ministry, Catholic AIDS Ministry in particular, that challenging but fascinating ministry of the Church, loved by many and despised by hordes.

So, here’s to you: the AIDS minister looking for support; the person affected by AIDS searching for comfort; the member of the clergy or religious community who supports AIDS ministry but fears becoming stigmatized; and yes, to you who might have arrived here out of plain curiosity or who might have no sympathy for those who bear the burden of HIV or AIDS. After all, we ALL have a place at God’s table.

Este “invento” ha sido establecido originalmente para ofrecer actualizaciones sobre la Asamblea de SECCAM. Después, y también entre actualizaciones, ofreceré información relacionada con la Pastoral del SIDA, en particular sobre la Pastoral Católica del SIDA, ese apostolado fascinante de la Iglesia, amado por muchos y odiado por multitudes.

Así que, aquí está: es para el ministro del SIDA que busca apoyo; para la persona afectada por el SIDA necesitada de consuelo; para el miembro del clero o miembros de comunidades religiosas que apoyan la pastoral del SIDA, pero temen ser señalados; y también para usted, que quizás ha llegado aquí por curiosidad, o que probablemente detesta a quienes llevan el peso del VIH o el SIDA. Después de todo, a la mesa del Señor hay lugar para TODOS y TODAS.
